CE Marking (Conformité Européenne)
CE marking is mandatory for most robot hardware sold commercially in the European Economic Area. It indicates that the product meets EU safety, health, and environmental requirements as defined by applicable directives — typically the Machinery Directive, Low Voltage Directive, and Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive for industrial robots.

RoHS Directive (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)
RoHS restricts the use of specific hazardous materials — including lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, and certain flame retardants — in electrical and electronic equipment sold in the EU. It applies to most electronic subassemblies, PCBs, sensors, motors, and controllers used in robotics.
